Buyers describe the task they want to automate; we take that brief to a network of vetted automation suppliers so the buyer can test feasibility, price and capability before committing money. Sellers get access to real, scoped Australian projects instead of cold leads.

No. We don’t sell, resell or install equipment, and we don’t represent any supplier. Suppliers can’t pay for a better ranking or preferential access to a brief, and we earn nothing extra if you pick one supplier over another. Independence is the product.

AutomationFinder is the Australian front door; HowToRobot is the engine room. When you click through to start a project or list your business, you continue on HowToRobot — that’s where your brief is built, published to suppliers and quoted. Same project, same account, end to end, with Robotics Australia Group backing you locally.

No. The platform is used by Fortune 500 manufacturers and small job shops alike. If you have one repetitive process worth looking at, you have enough to start — and starting costs nothing.

Anyone exploring automation. You don’t need robotics knowledge, a big budget or a finished specification. If your organisation has a repetitive task, a labour gap or a process bottleneck, you already qualify — factories, warehouses, food and beverage producers, commercial kitchens, hospitals, labs and distribution centres all use it.

Yes. The self-guided starting plan is AU$0. Paid plans and expert services only come in when you want to submit a formal request for quote or need hands-on help. Australian buyers get 5% off paid plans, and Robotics Australia Group members get 15% off. Plans are confirmed at sign-up.

Your brief is published to the supplier network without your company name. Suppliers register interest, you approve who takes part, and every question you answer is shared with all participants — so quotes are comparable and nobody gets an inside run. You reveal your identity only when you choose to.

That’s the normal starting point. Guided questions turn a rough idea into a structured brief, and if you’d rather not do it alone our local experts can run an on-site scoping visit and write the brief with you.

Never. You approve which suppliers take part, you set the deadlines, and you can walk away at any point if the numbers don’t stack up. Finding out that automation isn’t worth it is a valid — and cheap — outcome.

It depends on the project, but the process is deliberately structured rather than open-ended: budgetary quotes typically arrive in a matter of weeks, and firm proposals follow once you’ve shortlisted. Timelines for each expert service are listed on the buyers page.

Suppliers who genuinely deliver automation — system integrators, machine builders and OEMs, robot and cobot suppliers, AMR and intralogistics providers, vision, software and AI vendors, distributors and resellers, installation and commissioning firms, and service, support and training providers. Listings are vetted, which is what makes the network worth being in.

Matching is based on the capabilities, technologies, industries and locations in your profile. The more accurately you describe what you do, the more relevant the briefs you see.

The buyer. Quotes are submitted through the platform in a standard template so the buyer can compare fairly — they aren’t published to competing sellers.

Yes. The platform structures the brief, the Q&A and the quoting. Once you’re shortlisted, the conversation and the contract are between you and the buyer.

No — membership isn’t required to list or to quote. It does come with wider industry benefits, and RAG members receive a 15% discount on paid buyer plans. See membership options.

No. We’re deliberately brand-agnostic. Our only relationships are with Robotics Australia Group, which runs the initiative, and HowToRobot, which provides the platform.
